Active in the LoCity van group are a new manufacturer of electric Light Commercial Vehicles. BD Auto will launch onto the U.K. van market at the Commercial Greenfleet Show, Feb 23rd at The Stoop, Twickenham with their eDucato 3.5t L3H2. The light van is built from their factory in Turkey.

Our vans are eligible for the Government/OLEV Plug-in Van Grant and are also congestion charge exempt ensuring that operating costs are very competitive.
The new brand will be officially launched on Monday (6 February 2017) when the new website will go live, including dedicated mobile and tablet versions. This will be followed immediately by a national roll-out of the new branding which will include over 2,000 vehicles re-liveried, new uniforms for all members of staff, depot signage, packaging and stationery. The project will be completed by October 2017.

It was a full house of final mile, knowledge exchange and best practice showcase.
LoCity van group chaired by Carl Lomas Inst of Couriers were one of the key groups hosted at the event by West Thames College at their dedicated logistics learning centre in Feltham.

Inst of Couriers chair, Carl Lomas was at the van simulator education launch with Colin Gordon, the information Technology livery Master Chris Histed, West Thames college principal Tracy Aust and West London University Matt Snowdon. A logistics hot-spot for next generation final mile workforce, combined with TfL LoCity event and a college open day to showcase to students a stairway of trailblazer qualifications in Express from driver to degree apprenticeship in the new land of levy.

Delivery targets for the express delivery level two and pending degree apprentice level 6 for Express Manager. A big thank-you for helping improve apprenticeships. This is a big programme, over 200 trailblazer groups. During this transition of change I thank you for employment input. Many DfE managers are moving into the Institute for Apprenticeships (IFA). 40% of frameworks turned off as the new standards come in. We are working to all starts of standards by 2020.
Transport minister John Hayes commits to save lives and join the commercial drivers who have achieved the DFA first responder course.
Tracey Worth Inst of Couriers was with David Higginbottom who showcased Driver First Assist, DFA as the solution to saving lives roadside. A commercial driver is likely first to arrive at a road traffic accident (RTA). An injured person in an RTA will die in around four minutes from a blocked airway, an ambulance arrival is likely 8 mins.
David Higginbottom detailed training to save those lives, training for commercial drivers. Dealing with blocked airways could save half the lives lost in RTAs in the UK. The full house event held in the Commons was keynote-addressed by Transport Minister, John Hayes.

Further to the resolutions passed by UK Mail shareholders at the General Meeting and the Court Meeting on November 18, 2016, the acquisition was granted unconditional clearance by the European Commission on December 16, 2016 and UK Mail’s Scheme of Arrangement effecting the acquisition was sanctioned by the High Court of Justice in England and Wales on December 20, 2016. With this, the companies will cancel the listing of UK Mail Group plc shares, amend the company’s Articles of Association and will add UK Mail’s operations to the European parcel network of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

MCIA used the show to host their AGM and report on all things two wheels. MCIA boss Steve Kenward launched the very latest ‘Motorcycle Safety and Transport Policy Framework’ third edition, 160 pages in alliance with Highways England and the National Police Chiefs Council.
