Paul Guerrier Excel
Paul joined Excel as a van driver, the company soon harnessed Paul's considerable experience in the Overnight and International field, (6 years Citysprint - 14 years Transworld Couriers) and since then the department has seen an enormous growth. Service above and beyond the call of duty.
Nominator Martin Williams,
Paul's wealth of knowledge and exemplary customer service has allowed Excel to provide a service that matches and often betters that of the major names. What sets Paul apart is his commitment to the client. We have showcased his best practice actions on our website but the final word goes to the client Peter Slade, - Wow! Service above and beyond the call of duty Paul was excellent and the all the people at Excel inspire supreme confidence in their abilities.
On a Friday evening in November 2011, just when everyone was packing away and thinking of the weekend, Paul took a call from a key client who was distraught that his conference material destined for New York was stuck in a hub in Hamburg with a household named international company, and had no chance of realizing the 9am Monday deadline. What could we do? Despite a long day, Paul tucked into the project and arranged with the printers to collect a reprint on Sunday morning to be taken by 9 on board couriers flying out Sunday afternoon. He arranged each courier transfer, flights and accommodation, ensuring valid passports and credentials so there was no hiccups. Paul remained on call all weekend, liaising with the printers and monitored the whole journey throughout which was delivered on time and to clients expectations.
Paul Reddy - Control co-ordinator Rush Couriers
Paul's nomination reflects an individual who's had an excellent year and continues his development. Paul came to work for Rush in April 2010, he had just left UPS so as you can imagine he was strong on his systems. His role within Rush was as a control co-ordinator. However in the last year Paul has managed to redesign and implement a new recruitment process, take on the overnight collection circuit, introduce an ID system and over hauled the PDA programme.
Leon Gamble nominating comments,
He has a good touch with the customers and has become an all-round excellent member of the team. As the company has grown this year Paul has really shown he will be able to grow with it, taking on new duties at the same time as keeping his own up to a very high standard. When we received the new PDA's he'd sourced himself; he then spent the entire weekend getting them ready to roll out for Monday morning.

I joined AYS from the utilities industry and was enormously enthused by the wealth of help I had, the logistics industry is welcoming with many people who have years of experience willing to help a newcomer. I still after 10 years find that customers and suppliers help me on a day to day basis with the benefit of their knowledge, people enjoy seeing a business doing well and admire those who work hard to progress.
