The Bills Bill & Sharon Green Excel
Bill & Sharon always go the extra mile, they are affectionately known at Excel as The Bills. They have been working as a partnership, sharing the driving and parcel movement load for many years and originally started with Excel on the Sameday circuit. An opportunity arose for a contract placement at one of the nation's leading beauty and cosmetic brands and Bill and Sharon were deemed the perfect people to undertake the project.
Nominated by Martin Williams Excel London,
For contract service excellence, look no further than The Bills -What started out as a couple of hours a day has now resulted in the nationwide delivery of products by a team of dedicated van drivers organized and marshalled by Bill and Sharon. As ambassadors of Excel they have helped develop the business into one of Excel's leading clients. They are totally committed to the client and ensure that every driver on the contract has an understanding of the requirements and has the same work ethos as their own. Bill and Sharon always go the extra mile. They are well known in the stores they visit and will always assist in the moving stock and display materials.
When the Olympics posed a problem for the client, night time deliveries were deemed the best solution and since 23 rd July, finishing on 7 th September, they have been undertaking their daily routine during the silent hours. The Bills were engaged in all arrangements with the security at key London department stores and were accompanied nightly by a security keyholder. Security has always been at the top of their list and the nature of what they carry has often attracted interest from unwanted persons and a lasting memory for many of us at Excel is that of Sharon chasing an opportunist attempting to break into their van down a busy street.

Garry Thomas - Contract Supervisor - Citysprint
Over the last 5 years, Garry, as Contract Supervisor, has been and continues to be a significant contributor to our pharmaceuticals contract operation in Weedon. During this time, he has worked hand in hand with the client to resolve a number of challenges, including a consistent approach to hiring, training and managing over 25 self employed drivers. The routes he manages have grown from 5 rimes their size, including some very remote areas in Norfolk.
Nominated by Ian Miller, SCM Milton Keynes,
Garry has been instrumental in organising, training and recording new initiatives including statutory requirements for health and safety, controlled drugs legislation and epod reporting. He works seamlessly with the transport management as well as the branch manager and has been regularly commended for his attitude towards improving the AAH Weedon site's profile within the national AAH community.
He normally works on-site alongside the client's transport department. However, recently, due to sickness absences, he has been managing the whole process on his own, taking everything in his stride and always radiating his positive attitude to both the client and the couriers. His attitude strongly motivates the couriers as he holds weekly improvement meetings with them to ensure high delivery standards and maintain good driver morale - often with the help of chocolate and biscuits !
