Reception of the sold out 2013 National Courier Awards at the Institute of Directors in London was awash with gossip of Royal Mail privatisation as friends and colleagues, regional and national networked on a year's adventures in the business of logistics. There was no doubt 2013 saw the attendance of more courier companies from more regions, large and small than have ever been in one room before.

Norman Baker MP was joined by IOC Vice President, former transport minister David Jamieson, the duo of transport ministers celebrated safety in presenting five times ROSPA gold medal winners, City Link for workplace safety in the courier and logistics industry. Skills council boss Mick Jackson handed a technology award to DX for starting a step change in delivery times. David Stringer-Lamarre IOD spoke logistics as life blood of the City before presenting some of the strongest contract nominations in the history of the awards.

Guests for the gala evening were deafened by drums of the Clatteratti band in a crescendo finish to the awards sponsored by Ears communications and Briggs, the awards were sold out, companies large & small, network & independent, all at one with each other for what was clearly the best networking event of mail and logistics this year.
