Carl Lomas, LSA proud to be part of an epic adventure of Transport. Showcased at the Covent Garden Transport Museum this week, Transport for London, TfL celebrated twenty five years since its inauguration.

It was queues around Covent Garden by our sector for a night to remember. It is staggering to reflect on how transport in London has evolved in those twenty five years

IOC hon fellow, TfL Commissioner Andy Lord spoke passionately about the evolution of transport and roads in London during the quarter century.

‘Change from a pound on a Routemaster bus that had a cord to pull for stop, or even just jump off while travelling around Piccadilly Circus. Today Clean Air, ULEZ, Elizabeth Line, night tube, Oyster, contactless payment, bicycle hire, these were all samples of change delivered by TfL over its twenty five year life span.

Since its creation in 2000, TfL has delivered significant improvements to London's transport experience, often in partnership with its suppliers. Road freight talk was of collaboration and freight support that evolved from the route network push at the Olympics, this showcased the positive engagement between TfL and road freight, integration of employer operators in the TfL LoCity group focused on alternative vehicle fuels for final mile. Engagement with freight operators and the weekly Wed freight group and London road issues updated circulated by the IOC amongst others to the operator networks.

Carl Lomas commented, ‘Well done TfL, Bring on the success and the next twenty-five years.’
