The Institute for Apprenticeships IFA announced this Friday the appointment of Robert Nitsch CBE as its new Chief Operating Officer. Robert is a professional engineer with a strong background in logistics. Major General, he has been the Army’s Personnel Director for the past three years with significant leadership roles in his military career.

 

 

He was commissioned into the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in 1983. He became Commander of 102nd Logistic Brigade and went on to be head of logistics for UK forces in Afghanistan. He became Director of Army Manning in April 2012 and General Officer Commanding Support Command in August 2013.

Appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours.

The Institute is a crown, non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Education. The Institute ensures high-quality apprenticeship standards looking after the Express Trailblazer group in logistics and advises government on funding for each standard.
