Shadow Treasury Minister Seema Malhotra joined college principal Tracey Aust and Carl Lomas IOC chairman to cut the red ribbon and open the door to an aspiring next-generation workforce in the hot-spot of logistics - Heathrow.

The ribbon cut marked the official opening of West Thames College's new Skills and Logistics Centre at Boundaries Road, Feltham.

 

Carl Lomas MBE, Chair IoC was present at West Thames College today for the visit of the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Seema Malhotra MP.

A marathon effort swung into action behind the scenes to support Race Day for Virgin London Marathon.

Ben Cox - Senior Contract Manager - TNT UK, describes the mammoth effort that goes into preparing for Race Day.

Our team at TNT is already working round the clock to ensure everything is ready, whether it’s the bottle of water runners reach for at the mile markers, the revitalising supplies handed to runners as they cross the line, or the finisher medal around their neck that makes it all worthwhile.

 

IOC were on the M25 ring north of London to take a look at Top Flight, they have a consolidation option for clients to Central London postcodes and ring all the bells for TfL with Carbon Neutral and Crossrail compliance.

 

Association of education and learning providers, AELP were in the hot spot of East Midlands for logistics, hosted by Matthew Watson Scania at their national truck training centre Loughborough for the specialist sector group responsible for logistics. Chair James Billingham had a host of speakers from LEP to employers. Sue Tilley spoke for LLEP & the midlands engine, Matt Agnew for Scania, this is the largest Scania training centre in the World. Sarah Bell for Univ of Derby spoke about apprenticeship degrees a step to management in the logistics with clear sector focus. Stephen Ram Kissun rounded up with SFA and gave an update on AELP before thanking sponsor SQA.
