On the eve of the Microlise Driver conference is the gala dinner ceremony at the Coventry Ricoh arena with over three hundred guests to celebrate road-based drivers.

Thousands of depots at sortation round-table, IFA Coventry May 9th 2018

Express trailblazer employer group met in strength on May 9th at the Coventry HQ of the Institute for Apprenticeships. Thousands of express sortation depots were at the table to talk knowledge, skills and behaviour, developing vision for a new trailblazer standard for the sortation hub operatives in the express sector.

 

O’Donovan Waste are first in sector to achieve ISO 39001

IOC fellow Jacqueline O’Donovan reports she has achieved a momentous milestone by becoming the first dedicated final mile waste company to receive the ISO 39001 certification from BSI, which evaluates the management system of road safety and that seeks to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries from traffic accidents.

O’Donovan have already achieved ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and BH OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety)

FHDDS, HMRC’s new scheme started in April and aims to tackle VAT and customs duty fraud by overseas importers.

The FHDDS affects UK-based businesses that store imported goods on behalf of non-EU customers.  You must be approved by HMRC and your application needs to be submitted online to HMRC by 30 June 2018.
