The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has asked Transport for London to delay the enforcement of new rules for London’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ) and Direct Vision Standard (DVS) for at least four months after their introduction this October.

Although the new rules under both schemes will still legally come into force on 26 October, no charges will be payable or enforced for non-compliant vehicles under those new standards until the end of February 2021

This is a really smart example of a community working together and shows how our nationwide network can be used to support key services at this time. Our healthcare workers are doing a fantastic job - despite the exceedingly difficult situation they find themselves in. The supply of the much-needed face-shields is crucial, and we are delighted to be able to help.

Food deliveries top 200,000 a week responding to Covid-19 emergency

DPD is now delivering Morrisons food boxes in addition to handling an increase in deliveries for existing food and recipe box shippers.

Total food deliveries have topped 200,000 a week and DPD is planning for that number to rise significantly.

Morrisons has created a Meat Eaters Food Box and a Vegetarian Food Box. Both cost £35 and contain a range of chilled, fresh and tinned food stuffs, designed to help feed a couple for up to a week.

DPD will deliver the boxes the next day, for orders placed before 3pm.

The Mayor of London's office has sent an email to all those involved in front-line delivery.
