University of Derby Vice Chancellor Kath Mitchell headline key note for the logistics week top event conference in the magnificent new Business School Cavendish building. The VC spoke passionately about the logistics impact in the locality of the University and the theme of the logistics week, ‘Skills for future.’ ‘The whole of my life is dependant on logistics, the supply chain is important to me!’

Inst of Couriers Chair, Carl Lomas welcomed the VCs comments ‘Partnership of education will unlock opportunity in logistics workforce.’ ‘Technological influence & fluency in data will keep logistics competitive’ Lomas welcomed the VCs commed the VCs comments, Derby in heartland of e-retail logistics for the express final mile, a workforce that is one of the most diverse in transport with the cleanest electric and zero emission vehicles on the road. Partnership in edication is the key to the sector future.

The VC keynote continued, ‘The Derby Int Business School is a driver for skills in leadership and technology for supply chain internationally. Partnership of education between employer and the Business School will unlock opportunity across Supply Chain Logistics. For me the Logistics week represents that partnership and its impact. Its Impact to deliver graduates with skills to employers.

Dr Pouria Liravi chaired the Supply Chain conference week in the logistics heartland of the East Midlands M1 Jnct 24 at University of Derby. 80% of the UK inside four hours drive, this location allows the truck tacho limit, perfection of middle Egland logistics location.
