Evri doubles down on its long-term ambition to become the most accessible parcel delivery company by launching a quarterly listening panel, named the Evri Body Collective, to drive accessibility improvements.

Evri estimates one in four deliveries go to disabled consumers, and for the community, deliveries can be a constant source of anxiety, stress and difficulty. At the heart of the Collective is a group of people with lived-experience given direct access to decision-makers in Evri, which will help Evri listen better, understand more deeply and push Evri to make real change in the way it serves its communities, giving the disabled community the importance, profile and progress they deserve.

The Evri Body Collective launches at Evri’s Barnsley hub, one of the largest parcel hubs in Europe, with Lucy Edwards, TikTok star and the first ever blind BBC Radio 1 presenter, alongside representatives from Scope, disabled colleagues and couriers, and Evri’s Chief HR Officer Lyn Warren.

Evri is committed to change, and is using these listening sessions, alongside surveys, social listening and other research, to drive meaningful action. The role of the Collective members is to keep Evri accountable for change, elevate the voices of the disabled community with key Evri decision makers, and to test and provide feedback on new accessibility features. Evri has an ambition to grow the Collective over time, to include a wider range of voices, and aims to include stakeholders from key retail clients.

In October 2024, Evri announced a three-year partnership with Scope alongside a range of doorstep delivery improvements for disabled consumers such as the ability for disabled consumers to request more time to get to the door and to ring the doorbell instead of knocking. Consumers can add preferences to their account which will apply to every Evri parcel delivery.

Evri is also celebrating reaching a £150,000 milestone for Scope since the start of the partnership.

Lucy Edwards, a disability activist, said: “Nothing about us, without us. Having people with lived experience, like me, with a seat at the table, understanding that we have a valuable voice and such resilience is key. A lot of people acquire a disability later in life and the resilience and mental strength that is taken to learn the new body we live in makes us some of the most resilient people you’ll meet. Conversations like these are helping to stop that elephant in the room and move us towards a more equitable future.”

Amanda Mitchell, Executive Director of Fundraising at disability equality charity Scope, said: “I’d like to thank Evri, their suppliers and partners for raising the incredible total of £80,000. This generous donation is vital in helping us deliver our mission, to create an equal future with disabled people.

“We’re very proud to be supporting Evri on their mission to become the most accessible parcel delivery company in the UK. The launch of the Evri Body Collective was a fantastic day and the role of the members to hold Evri accountable for change, will have such a positive impact for their disabled colleagues, couriers and customers.

“We believe that listening to the voices of disabled people to help improve the workspace and customer experience is the only way for Evri to truly achieve their goal.”

Lyn Warren, Chief HR Officer at Evri, said: “We need to set everybody up to be at their best, and to be successful, which means different things to everyone. We need to start at a place of how we can, rather than why we can’t, and we’ll start to think creatively about what every individual needs to be their best self. I’d love us to be able to create greater access to jobs. And for our customers, it’s really understanding their needs by using our wonderful courier network.”

Evri is the UK’s biggest dedicated parcel delivery company, delivering more than 730 million parcels a year. The company has a mission to be the most convenient way to send, receive and return parcels, without costing the earth. Evri works with most of Europe’s top retailers, marketplaces and pre-loved sites.

The roots of Evri can be traced back to Yorkshire in 1974 but the business has grown over the decades and now has a team of 8,000+ employees, 25,000+ couriers, 17,000+ out of home locations and a growing network of state-of-the-art hubs and depots. Evri has more than 3 million independent 5-star Trustpilot reviews, on-time delivery rates which surpass 99%, an average courier rating of 4.7/5, and a commitment to provide an answer for everyone following a significant investment in customer experience.
