Jon Bunting, ‘ What a milestone indeed!’ The Comms team caught up with Paul to find out how his 40 years at Smiths News has been since starting his journey back in August 1983 in the returns department for WHS Yeovil (as it was called back then!) Since then, Paul has worked his way through different roles; from packing magazines in the day, to packing and delivering newspapers on night shifts, before moving into various management positions in 1990.

As the years moved on, Paul found his feet as depot manager for Yeovil - which is where is he works now. Paul commented “All the faces have changed apart from a couple of contractors and colleagues. Inevitably, we faced some tough challenges as a depot during Brexit and Covid - however we pull through as a team to rebuild. The business has definitely changed over the years and it’s exciting to see our business move in different directions and I am grateful to still be a part of the SN team and I still have fuel in my tank to continue”
