Launching a larger, new centre for DX Express in Ipswich

Last week DPD showcased new Bicester, Hermes in Nottingham. This week DX in Ipswich as express courier sector adapts to the driven numbers of COVID.

DX, this week launched its new, expanded centre in Ipswich, as part of its plans to grow its express delivery services in East Anglia.

Lloyd Dunn, Chief Executive Officer at DX Group, commented:

This move is part of our strategy to drive the next phase of DX’s development, which is focused on growth and selective investment in technology and sites.

The new operating centre, located in Claydon Industrial Park, replaces the smaller, existing location of the Group’s Express division and offers a range of highly secure, tracked and express delivery services for documents, pouches and parcels to both B2B and B2C end-customers. The move to larger premises increases the Express division’s collection and delivery capability in the region, and will improve its service to both existing and new customers across a range of sectors, including pharmacy, medical, optical and online retail.

This is the latest step in DX’s programme of continuing capital investment in the Express division, having recently announced the roll-out of the latest generation handheld devices for its couriers. It follows the opening of a new Ipswich depot for the Group’s Freight division in January this year. This division specialises in the transportation of bulky and awkward to handle freight as well as providing logistics solutions.

Martin Illidge, Managing Director of DX Express, said:

We are delighted to be opening a new, expanded operating centre in Ipswich. It will enable us to improve our secure, tracked and express services for existing customers in the area and provides us with a platform for further growth.

Our facilities management and operational team members have done a great job in completing the move to larger premises while observing the necessary health and safety requirements, which are even more of a priority for us all currently.
