From warehouse operations manager to fleet manager to Depot managers, the last mile delivery was always in Dave’s capable hands.

Latterly, an opportunity arose to join Whistl as a depot manager and Dave took on the challenge with diligence and effectiveness that saw him rewarded with the offer of a new role as Head of Operations South. The last mile may well be the service, but Dave took it further and was promoted to Head of National Operations and now today we see him in the role of Operation Director.
From mail to final mile parcel to mail, Dave loves the sector that has given him so much to enjoy.

Jonathan Waite (Viking)

gowning ioc house stylised 2024 700px

With an early start as a production assistant, it was in this job role that Jon got his first taste of warehouse and logistics duties. He quickly decided to move over to transport companies Tawny and then Westlink that gave him a greater logistics experience.

Express delivery was for him, and this led him to take the opportunity to join Lewis Day. The challenge that lay before him was the management of the fleet and the drivers, looking after the sortation operatives and route ordering for both local multi drops and the full artic loads.

However a new job offer as commercial fleet controller with Viking benefited from all Jon skills and experience, from fleet profiling and maintenance to vehicle purchasing and disposal. As the carrier manager he now oversees the demanding requirements of the larger clients where often bespoke, and an extra level of attention is required for the final mile delivery.
