Road Freight Bulletin 97: 10th April 2014

    1. Friday 11 to Sunday 13 April – A1211 Bevis Marks – Works – Closures
    From 1900 hours on Friday 11 to 1600 hours on Sunday 13 April, Bevis Marks northbound will be closed for resurfacing. Diversions will be in place and Bury Street will operate temporarily as a two-way street for local access.

    2. Saturday 12 April – Wembley Stadium – FA Cup semi final – Delays
    The stadium will be hosting the Arsenal v Wigan Athletic match. Kick off is at 1700 hours and the match may go to extra-time and penalties. Expect delays in the area before and after the game.

    3. Sunday 13 April
    Central and East London – 2014 Virgin Money London Marathon – Closures
    The Marathon starts in Greenwich and travels through Charlton, Woolwich, Deptford, Rotherhithe, Bermondsey, Wapping, Shadwell, the Isle of Dogs, Poplar, Tower Hill, Embankment and Westminster, finishing on The Mall.
    The Limehouse Link Tunnel and the East India Dock Tunnel will both be closed from 0500 hours to 2200 hours.
    There will be extensive road closures from 0600 hours to 1900 hours on and around the route. Tower, Southwark, and Westminster Bridges will be closed. Rotherhithe Tunnel will be closed from 0800 hours to 2200 hours.
    Roads will start to reopen around midday and are expected to be fully reopened by 1900 hours. More information at http://www.tfl.gov.uk/campaign/travel-disruption
    A3216 Chelsea Bridge Road – Works – Closures
    From 0830 hours to 1700 hours, Chelsea Bridge Road will be closed for resurfacing between Ebury Bridge Road and Grosvenor Road.
    Wembley Stadium – FA Cup semi final – Delays
    The stadium will be hosting the Hull v Sheffield United match. Kick off is at 1600 hours and the match may go to extra time and penalties. Expect delays in the area.

    4. Sunday 13 to Tuesday 15 April – Buckingham Palace Road – Works – Closures
    Buckingham Palace Road, between Victoria Street and Terminus Place, will be closed overnight for resurfacing from 2200 hours to 0600 hours on Sunday 13 and Monday 14 April.

    5. Monday 14 April – Pall Mall – Works – Closures
    To facilitate resurfacing works, Pall Mall westbound will be closed overnight at the junction of Waterloo Place, from 2100 hours on Monday 14 to 0600 hours on Tuesday 15 April.

Future Streets Incubator Fund

The Mayor and Transport for London (TfL) launched a new £1.8 million 'Future Streets Incubator Fund' to help deliver recommendations made by the Mayor's Roads Task Force. The fund aims to create new, greener spaces, boost sustainable transport, test new street layouts and alternative ways that roads and streets can be used. We are looking for creative pilot scheme submissions from local boroughs, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and community groups.     Chiswick Bridge - works update

TfL is set to begin works to strengthen and refurbish Chiswick Bridge. Work will begin in April 2014 and will be completed by Spring 2015. TfL has worked hard to design the works to ensure that the bridge remains open as much as possible.
