Subject: Consultation on TfL's proposed Silvertown Tunnel scheme

I am writing because TfL has today reached the midway point of our major, statutory consultation on the proposed Silvertown Tunnel scheme. 

The Silvertown Tunnel is a new twin-bore, dual carriageway road tunnel linking the A102 on the Greenwich Peninsula to the Tidal Basin Roundabout in the Royal Docks area.  Our scheme includes a new charge to use the Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnels.  The charge is necessary to manage demand and ensure that the local road network can accommodate future traffic levels.  The charge will also pay for the new tunnel to be built.
