Shropshire convenience store wins national award for outstanding customer service.

A convenience store in Oswestry, Shropshire, rises to the top of 6,500 stores across the country in Yodel's Store of the Quarter awards. EG Evans & Tina in Oswestry is the latest ‘Store of the Quarter’ for outstanding customer support and service to the local community, beating thousands of stores nationwide.

Local courier Balasooriya Kankanamalage, who drops and collects parcels from the store, and delivers 150 parcels per day to the surrounding area, was also commended as part of the accompanying ‘Driver of the Quarter’ award. The award is granted to drivers in conjunction with recognised stores to reward couriers who provide high-quality service and showcase their commitment to deliveries and customers in the area.

The award recognises excellent customer satisfaction and service levels across the Deliver to Yodel Store network. The network comprises of 6,500 newsagents, convenience stores, petrol stations, and supermarkets. EG Evans & Tina has been a vibrant hub of the local community of Oswestry since Tina Evan’s mum opened the shop in 1969, with it handling over 1,000 parcels a quarter for Yodel, with an outstanding rating of 5 star through our in-house Have Your Say customer feedback survey.

We've recently seen customer-to-customer volumes surge as a result of a rise in people buying and selling on second-hand marketplaces like Vinted and eBay. Thanks to the network of shops across the country, parcel senders and recipients alike are never far from a pick-up or drop-off point.

Tina Evans, Store Owner, said: “Being a part of the Deliver to Yodel Store network has really supported our business in getting people through the door, and is an invaluable service for people in the area. We’re really excited to have been recognised for our work and are grateful to Yodel and all our loyal customers who have made this possible.”

Michaela Simpson, Customer Experience Director at Yodel, said: “EG Evans & Tina stand as an example to all of us, and highlights the importance of a community spirit for anyone working across the logistics sector. At Yodel, we look forward to celebrating the success of our partners, who enable us to provide secure and convenient parcel collections to millions of customers across the country. I look forward to hearing more about this store’s success in years to come.”
