Richard Holden moves in reshuffle from DFT to Party chair. Holden comments, ‘The reshuffle brings a broad church to the party.’

Jesse Norman has resigned as a DFT Minister. Anthony Browne is listed as a new Minister on the Department’s website and Guy Opperman is appointed DfT Minister for Roads. Lords shift as Baroness Vere moves to Treasury and Lord Davies of Gower takes DFT role.

Opperman was previously Minister of State at the Department for Work and Pensions, and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the same department between 14 June 2017 and 8 September 2022. He served as a Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury) from 12 May 2015 to 14 June 2017. He was elected Conservative MP for Hexham in May 2010.

Anthony Browne was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Transport in this week's reshuffle, 13 November 2023. Following the publication of the UK Government’s Fraud Strategy, he was previously appointed as the first Prime Minister’s Anti-Fraud Champion. As the previous Chief Executive Officer for the British Banking Association, and a former member of the Treasury Select Committee (2 March 2020 to 26 June 2023), Anthony has the experience and knowledge of fraud, and industry to drive this work forward.
