Ian Bland, Chris Tresadern and Ian Brewer have all returned to Tuffnells. A proven track record the team is trusted to help propel the business forward, ensuring a new era of success.

All three held leadership positions in Tuffnells, departing prior to or during its previous ownership by Connect Group. Its return to private ownership in May 2020 has brought with it new challenges and opportunities for the irregular dimensions and weight (IDW) carrier.

With a clear plan for growth, Bland, Tresadern and Brewer are already playing a vital role in helping get the business back to turning a profit, after a number of years of substantial financial loss.

Michael Holt, Executive Chairman commented,

I am thrilled to have Ian, Chris and Ian on board. This team has a proven record of success at Tuffnells, and all three are instrumental in our plans to turn the business around. We have big challenges ahead of us, but these are exciting times at Tuffnells and I think it says a lot that the team has chosen to return. We couldn’t ask for a more loyal, dedicated and hardworking team to help push Tuffnells forward.

Previously holding the positions of Regional Director and Deputy Operations Director between 2005 and 2016, Ian Bland’s time away from the business has been spent working in the property business with his wife. Returning to the national IDW carrier as Operations Director, Ian’s role is to run a highly efficient and cost-effective operation that customers will enjoy and staff can be proud of.

Chris previously held the roles of Regional Director from 2002 - 2008 and Sales Director from 2008 - 2017, before leaving to pursue a role in consultancy for a few years. As Commercial Director, Chris’ focus is to ensure growth in the business and to continue to build an industry-leading service for customers.

After 20 years’ service, which saw him become Finance Director, overseeing the 2005 buy-out and also the 2014 business acquisition to Connect, Ian Brewer left the role in 2016 to enjoy a little time off and to explore other avenues. After trying (unsuccessfully) to retire, Ian has returned as Finance Director and has been instrumental in the progress already made, helping the business return to profit in just six months.
