Jessica Taylor, Engagement Officer at TfL writes

Dear Stakeholder

During 2017 we consulted on proposals to transform the road layout along Nine Elms Lane and Battersea Park Road. We also consulted on proposals to extend the P5 bus route to Battersea Power Station.

I am writing to let you know that the consultation reports are now available.

Nine Elms consultation

Between 3 July and 20 August 2017 we consulted on proposals to transform the 2.5km stretch of road from the Vauxhall Gyratory, along Nine Elms Lane and Battersea Park Road to Macduff Road, connecting to Cycle Superhighway 8 (CS8).

We received 930 direct responses to our consultation questionnaire online, through a paper copy (for example, completed the questionnaire at an exhibition) or by unique email. Of those who responded, 30 per cent strongly supported the overall proposals, 13 per cent partially supported, 8 per cent partially opposed, 46 per cent strongly opposed, 3 per cent neither supported or opposed, and less than 1 per cent had no opinion.

We also received a number of responses directly from stakeholders which are included in the consultation report. To view the consultation report, please go to: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/roads/nine-elms-lane/

We plan to publish a detailed response to the issues raised and decision on how to proceed during summer 2018. We are working with the London Borough of Wandsworth and other key stakeholders to allow the successful growth of the Nine Elms area.

P5 extension consultation

Between 26 June and 20 August 2017 we consulted on proposals to extend route P5 to Battersea Power Station.

We received 195 responses to the consultation of which 48 percent strongly or partially supported and 49 per cent opposed or partially opposed the proposal to extend the P5 bus route. We also received a number of responses directly from stakeholders which are included in the consultation report.

To view the consultation report and our response to issues raised, please go to: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/p5-extension/

After considering all of the responses, we have decided to put the proposals to extend the P5 bus route on hold. We will continue to discuss possible solutions with the London Borough of Wandsworth.
