The IOC is proud to be in the City supporting the Lady Mayor. The Honda CX 500 became iconic for its reliability, twin front brakes, shaft drive, sturdy construction and a very comfy seat, almost a hundred and forty thousand miles on the clock and it never missed a beat in the rain storm.
The iconic courier bike is no newcomer to the City, Summer last year it was at cartmarking ceremony of the livery of Carmen in a day of rain soaked ceremony to gets it trade vehicle taxation brand from the Master Carmen. 48 years old, the 1976 iconic the series one Honda CX 500 Vtwin bike was dressed in the eighties brands of Mercury, GLH, Security Despatch, Delta and Pony Express to join over 100 bikes with Lady Mayoress Dame Susan to celebrate a community event to showcase the City as a place for everyone.
Forecast overtook the event and cancelled due to safety of motorbikes in the rain. Set to have started at twelve from St Paul's Cathedral, the IOC H0nda was set to ride through the City of London, where it is believed to have delivered over quarter of a million same day deliveries ti the Square mile. COA, Cancelled on arrival. The ride was heading out to Orsett Farm, Essex for a hog roast lunch and refreshments before a return ride back to the City of London making a traditional wait and return final mile same day delivery.
Organiser say the event will be rescheduled for June, fellows are set to be alongside the iconic courier bike at Guildhall yard for the 2026 Carmen livery cartmarking, Saturday 18th July
The delivery motorbike Honda will also be at the NEC for the three day Multimodal e-delivery trade show, starting 30th June.
