IOC chair Carl Lomas and IOC CEO Dr Trcey Worth at the CV Show 2026

Twenty quid for the car park before a white Mercedes bus to the NEC front door, not a truck in sight, the Commercial Vehicle show has evolved to a fully van-focused showcase of everything final mile, last mile with a strong emphasis on express logistics. For 2026 CV co-located with Bus & Coach Expo to stretch to two halls. Make no mistake, the mix of conventional fuel vans and electric made for a worthy IOC fellows visit to the NEC.

Senior fellow Simon Harper DX centres our senior fellows photo on the purple carpets of a busy van hall for a network and natter on express final mile, last mile delivery to the door. Blast from the past was Gnewt EV founder, former IOC chair of electric vehicle group, Sam Clarke, spoke passionately about his latest electric Innovate-funded project for HGV truck electrics.

Ford stand held the pride of place entry area of the show, centre stage was the all new Transit Custom, hands off!, placed in a cordon to look and don’t touch. Rear lights gone even more chunky. A funky modern grill with smooth lines we have come to expect from the electric future of our delivery van lives.

All major brands were available hands-on - from Maxus to Renault, Iveco, Peugeot and Citroen, Vauxhall in the running and a spread of VW electrics that gave the Dub warmth of heart in the split colour fronts. Kia adorned the visitors necks with sponsorship of the lanyards.

Passengers not parcels, upstairs in the bus and coach hall a final mile gem, Mellowvans brand, new South African built cargo trike, solid build, disc brakes, conventional L-cat 5 with a number plate, but drive on a moped licence, with left and right side cab access, safety first, no cycle pedals, fixed driving seat, a seat belt and a disablement system for the electric motor if the seat belt is not clipped in, Add to this, for a light category L5 vehicle it had a huge two cubic metre rear load box space!

Mellow Van trike is tipped to be hands-on for fellows with an actual vehicle at Guildhall for the July7th IOC Heads of Industry round table.

Fuel was on the agenda, with Shell delivering a big show stand engagement to talk opportunity and fuel card.

Octopus Energy were giving away pink friends to take home with a launch of their recharging app, UK-wide and even clarified if the plug was in use or available.

Let's get cool and shiny. Best van load space floor went to the Foton C1 Chinese brand with shiny silver checkerplate floor.

Renault big van has a new name from the Master to the Estafette and sat next to a smaller futuristic Traffic.

Iveco ev super Joly up to 260 miles sat next to the ev cafe area where a micro quad wheel VOK bike with pedals sat on the Dawson rentals stand. Traditional Goupil ev next door had gone modern with a new sleek front for a trusted brand in the small electric work machines.

DELIVAN launch on European market. Far corner of the hall. looking into future of Cherry Engineering and the Chinese brand DELIVAN. A stand of white cube stools, a transparent view of clear plastic body, glow-in-the-dark transplant heart of batteries on full display inside the clear plastic mock prototype. A DeliVan Prototype surrounded by micro van single seaters and even a driverless robot giant black and white trolley box on wheels.

Stand A120 the DELIVAN appearance represents the company's first European show this year and will also serve as the global launch platform for its all-new European-focused CV brand.

The CV Show made a platform to see an early preview of the company's product, technology and design direction ahead of a planned European product launch in 2027. IOC got you the exclusive DELIVAN team launch snap.
