Inst of Couriers delivers IOC-sponsored Maths prize for top apprentice at Buxton Leek College Derby University.

 Dr Tracey Worth CEO Inst of Couriers, was in logistics heartland of the East Midlands as IOC attended the University of Derby Buxton Leek College, BLC 2025 student awards at the Buxton Dome campus.

Under the Dome in the cooling heat of the evening the annual gathering of the BLC, alongside Derby University, the students and their families eagerly awaited to hear the announcements of the annual FE college Awards.

Dr. Tracey Worth was called upon by the host of the night Gareth Hughes to present the maths apprentice prize to Rose Gregory; the winner's prize for maths was sponsored by the Inst of Couriers, included a year pass to Jodrell Bank and the Lovell radio telescope.

Professor Neil Fowler, deputy Vice Chancellor Derby University, read the citations, describing the exceptional and passionate engagement by all the students present. The highlights in the citations from course tutors described what all these students were able to accomplish. Tutors expressed their difficulty in selecting the best of the best, but this they did, and were delighted to be able to present the BLC ‘student-made awards’ to the winners of each category.

The Dome building which hosted this event was erected by the 5th Duke of Devonshire. The current Earl of Burlington, son of the 12th Duke of Devonshire, William Cavendish is the Chancellor of the Derby University.
