Express operator combines with military for Covid delivery. Clipper with 101 Logistic Brigade delivering (PPE) for the NHS Clipper and 101 Logistic Brigade RLC create a truly collaborative solution
 
Clipper Logistics announced at the beginning of lockdown that it contracted to provide services to establish a new supply chain for NHS Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products - delivering to NHS Hospital Trusts and other healthcare providers across the country.  Mobilisation took 5 days.
 
IOC fellow, Tony Mannix, ‘From start to finish mobilisation took 5 days. Clipper rapidly mobilised its warehousing and fulfilment operations since engaging with the NHS, and deliveries have now commenced. From start to finish, mobilisation of the solution took 5 days, including setting up a full warehouse management system for over 200,000 sq. ft. of warehousing space at DIRFT Daventry.‘
 
Steve Parkin, Executive Chairman at Clipper commented: 'These are unprecedented times, and the support we have received from NHS Supply Chain, and 101 Logistic Brigade has been outstanding, and has enabled us to create a truly collaborative solution as a result. Major Dave Fraser RLC, receives the award for 101 Brigade

101 Logistic Brigade were called upon and responded with organisational brilliance in support of the national deployment. 101 Logistic Brigade organise and deliver forward movement of commodities to sustain the front line. Working alongside the NHS, Clipper and Unipart, 101 Brigade did just that. Usually deployed to support warfighting with logistic, equipment support and medical expertise, they provided their skills and workforce to support the NHS with the distribution of PPE.


101 Logistic Brigade made a substantial contribution to the provision and delivery of this task which involved swift, efficient and impactful systems to be put in place, to supply PPE to the NHS nationwide. The Brigade used its knowledge and skill for the implementation of a complex and difficult mobilisation of the much-needed supply chain.”

 

Brigadier Phil Prosser, Commander 101 Logistic Brigade commented:  'Through the dedication and hard work of both 101 Logistic Brigade, Clipper Logistics and the NHS we are able to adapt swiftly and precisely to this unparalleled crisis.  This team of teams delivered logistic effect far greater than the sum of its parts under a common purpose to ensure the continued supply of PPE to all front line users.  My thanks goes out to the whole team who’s commitment and professionalism enabled a truly extraordinary effort in the response to the challenge of our generation.'
