IOC IntraLogisteX Survey 2018

How do logisticians shop on line ?

A data sample from the logistics visitors to the UK Coventry Arena IntraLogisteX trade show of innovation in logistics.

The Institute of Couriers spent time on the yellow carpet, a packed full-house trade show on all things logistics. IOC asked a twenty-question set of how, when, why and what logisticians shopped for on-line . The reward for the logistics professionals was a Curly Wurly chocolate bar to fend off the cold middle-England air outside.

Day one figures hot off the press.

Logisticians at IntraLogisteX will wait three days for delivery, they shop online in the evening and not many buy their groceries on the net. Weekend is the key delivery period they want and the delivery window advice must be inside two hours.

77%% of logisticians visiting Intralogistex believe cost of delivery is the most important factor to shopping on line.

82% chose home delivery. Click & Collect, delivery to the office scored low amongst logisticians visiting day one of the IntraLogisteX trade show at Coventry arena.

71% want a two hour window of delivery time advice and 78% want their delivery at the weekend.

Buying goods under fifty pounds of retail value, 70% will wait three days for delivery.

Logisticians shop on line between 5pm and midnight, 75% of those visiting Introligistex are evening on line shoppers.

Only a quarter of day visitors to IntraLogisteX buy their groceries online.
