Jon Barber is Managing Director of Scarlet Couriers – one of the UK's largest independent courier companies. Operating from control centres in Slough, Bracknell and Uxbridge, Scarlet has been providing a full service delivery solution to companies and businesses in the Thames Valley for over 25 years.

It all started in 1982 when Jon – than aged 19 – took a temporary job with the fledgling Scarlet Couriers as a despatch rider “because the company supplied a bike”. But within the first few months Jon recognised the potential, took over the company and started to build it into the successful operation it is today. Scarlet currently employs over 100 people.

“For me, it’s always been about the service and the people,” explains Jon, supporting the company’s reputation for quality of service, professionalism and customer care.

Jon is committed to raising the industry’s profile and improving standards at national level, and he is delighted to have been selected as one of the Founding Fellows of the Institute of Couriers. Scarlet were also founder members of the National Courier Association, and Jon plays an active role on the National Committee.
Away from work, Jon’s leisure time revolves around his major passions – his family, his golf and Tottenham Hotspur.
